| Writer, born in Perleberg, NEC Germany. He trained as an actor, then spent long periods in France before studying anthropology in Brazil, Haiti, and Trinidad. He wrote mainly novels which highlighted the problems of the social outsider, particularly the drug scene, his prose reflecting the heightened consciousness of the drug user. His books include Der Aufbruch nach Turku (1963), Das Waisenhaus (1966), and parts of an unfinished epic Die Geschichte der Empfindsamkeit (1986). |
