| Poet, novelist, and playwright, born in Liegnitz, E Germany. His work, which was influenced by the poetry of Georg Heym, focuses on the relationship between humanity and its natural environment, and includes Nachtgesang (1928), Ulanenpatrouille (1940), and Verloschende Feuer (1956). He also wrote for the periodical Die Kolonne. He was married to the novelist, Oda Schaefer. |
