| Architect, born in Burgos, NC Spain, the father of Hernán Ruiz ‘the Younger’. Working mostly in Córdoba, his chief work was the direction of the new Cathedral of Córdoba, enclosed in the Mezquita (1523), where he erected the main chapel and part of the transept. He also participated in the construction of the Palacio de los Páez (1540) in the city, in collaboration with Sebastian Peñarredonda. |
