| Economist and banker, born in Wennigsen, WC Germany. He moved to the USA in 1937. He was assistant chief economist in the research department of the Federal Reserve Bank, New York City (1957–61), then joined Salomon Brothers, becoming a partner in 1967 and managing director in 1981. Chief economist in charge of (among other interests) bond market research and bond portfolio analysis, he wrote Interest Rates, the Markets, and the New Financial World in 1986. |
