| biography:
| Designer and writer on design, born in New York City, USA. After an early career in stage design, in 1928 he opened his own design office. An important aspect of his work was his pioneering research into anthropometry, as seen in Designing for People (1955) and The Measure of Man (1959). Among the products which he designed were telephones, vacuum cleaners, televisions, agricultural machinery, and airliner interiors. |
