| Aviator, born in Fort Stanton, New Mexico, USA. He trained at West Point (1904), and then served in the cavalry and transferred to the air service in 1920. As commander of the Air Corps Tactical School (1936–8), he trained hundreds of aviators who would serve during World War 2. He held several defence commands in the USA and Caribbean during the war. |
