| Architect and town planner, born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He designed the Amsterdam Bourse (1903) in a neo-Romanesque style, but was later influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, and was largely responsible for the spread of his theories in The Netherlands. His other buildings include Holland House, London (1914), and the Gemeente Museum in The Hague (1934). |
