| Composer, born in Halle, Saale, EC Germany. He was among the first to apply the 12-tone system, in his liturgical compositions. In addition to church music he composed orchestral and choral works, and works for organ and the stage. In 1976 he was appointed professor at the Hochschule der Künste in East Berlin. |
