| Novelist and poet, born in Naarden, WC Netherlands. She made her debut in 1966 with the collected poems Emotioneel Esperanto (Emotional Esperanto). In 1977 her novel Een onfatsoenlijk afscheid (An Indecent Farewell), a story about a woman's search into the history of her father who died in the war, lifted her from literary obscurity but, by the late 1990s, her work had failed to attract a large reading public. |
