| Pioneer Greek historian and geographer. He is known for two works. Genealogies (or Histories), of which just a few fragments survive, is referred to by Herodotos. Tour of the World, of which a larger number of fragments remain, is divided into two parts, Europe and Asia, and describes local customs and curiosities. |
