| biography:
| British painter, designer, and poet. He founded the Della Robbia Pottery with the sculptor, Conrad Dressler, in Birkenhead (1893), producing a wide range of architectural and domestic earthenware. Items were decorated with sgraffito and elaborate modelled relief decoration inspired by Italian maiolica. The pottery merged with a firm of ecclesiastical sculptors in 1900, and went into liquidation in 1906. |
