| Engineer, born in Fremont, Nebraska, USA. He studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where in 1934 he became professor of electrical engineering. A specialist in stroboscopes and high-speed photography, he produced a krypton-xenon gas arc which was employed in photographing the capillaries in the white of the eye without hurting the patient. |
