| biography:
| Writer, born in Nuremberg, SC Germany. He served as armourer in the Hussite Wars and in the defence of Nuremberg against Markgraf (Margrave) Albrecht Achilles von Brandenburg in 1449, and later described himself as a heraldic Wappendichter. He is particularly famed for some 30 farcical Fastnachtspiele, but his output ranges from earthy drinking songs and Schwänke to political aphorisms, spiritual odes, and panegyrics, such as the Lobspruch auf Nürnberg (1447). |
