| Writer, born in Poznan, WC Poland (formerly Posen, Prussia). He wrote compelling plays based on historical and biographical themes, such as Heinrich und Anna (1942), Karl V (1943), and Heinrich VII (1947). His ‘Prussian Dramas’ (1934–7), a cycle of five plays, brought him huge success under the National Socialists. He also wrote radio plays. |
