| Industrialist, born in Offenburg, SW Germany. As president of the Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Arbeitgeberverbände (from 1973) and the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (1977) he was a high-profile businessmen in Germany. An opponent of Mitbestimmung (‘collective management’) he was a tough opponent in collective bargaining discussions. In 1977 he was abducted by the Rote-Armee-Fraktion to force the release of imprisoned members. His body was found in Mulhouse, Alsace, France. |
