| biography:
| Poet, born in Naarden, W Netherlands. He first studied law but then switched to biology. Some literary historians consider him to be the forerunner of the Movement of Fifty (Vijftigers) due to his use of free verse and the associative nature of his poetry. His work has a melancholic undertone and balances between fantasy and reality. He died at an early age from leukaemia. |
