| German politician and lawyer, born in Lubliniec, S Poland (formerly Lublinitz, Germany). He was active in the Reichsministerium des Inneren, and became state secretary (1933–7), minister (1937–45), and head of the Reichskanzlei. In 1949 he was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but was released in 1952. |
