| Flemish painter. He was recorded in the Antwerp Guild in 1540, but was active chiefly in England, being based in London from c.1545 for about 20 years. His surviving paintings are mainly portraits (signed with the monogram HE), though he is known also to have undertaken work for masques and pageants. |
