| French actress and film-maker of Danish origin. After dancing school and modelling she went to Paris and appeared in J-L Godard's Le Petit Soldat (1960). She was married to Godard for six years, and starred in his films Une femme est une femme (1961), Vivre sa vie (1962), Bande à part (1964), Alphaville (1965), Pierrot le fou (1965), and Made in the USA (1967). She also appeared in Jacques Rivette's La Religieuse (1966), Andre Delvaux's Rendez-vous à Bray (1971), and L'Oeuvre au noir (1988). |
