| Legal scholar, born in Milan, Italy. He studied in the USA and England, then joined the faculty of Yale University Law School (1959), serving as dean from 1985. He was an expert in liability law, including medical malpractice and property, and his publications include The Costs of Accidents (1970), Tragic Choices (1978), and Ideals, Beliefs, Attitudes and the Law (1985). |
