| Hungarian statesman, born in Vienna, Austria. He entered the Hungarian Diet in 1872, and was leader of the moderate Opposition which became the National Party in 1891. In 1899 he and his supporters went over to the Liberal Government Party, and he became President of the Diet (1901–3). He frequently represented his country at the League of Nations. |
