| Sculptor and woodcarver, born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He moved to England, UK, where he was appointed by Charles II to the Board of Works, and employed in the chapel at Windsor and in St Paul's London. At Chatsworth, Burghley, and other mansions he executed an immense quantity of carved fruit and flowers, cherubs' heads, and other typical Baroque embellishment. |
