| Pianist, born in Toronto, Ontario, SE Canada. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, before making his debut as a soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. He then performed extensively in the USA and Europe, but left the concert stage after only 10 years, in 1964. He became a renowned recording artist, particularly of works by Bach and Beethoven, and was known for his innovative radio documentaries, television shows, and occasional writings. |
