| Republican conspirator, born in Murato, Corsica. A member of a French republican group, he helped to construct ‘an infernal machine’ of 25 guns firing simultaneously at King Louis-Philippe in 1835. Eighteen people were killed, but the king escaped almost unhurt, and Fieschi was executed after trial. |
