| Painter, born in Milan, N Italy. He became a designer of stained-glass windows for Milan cathedral. He later moved to Prague, where he was court painter to the Habsburgs, executing the work for which he is best known - fantastic heads composed of fragmented landscape, animals, vegetables, flowers, and other non-human objects, brightly coloured and with a great attention to detail. |
