biography: Composer, born in Rome, Italy. He studied the organ at Ferrara Cathedral, became organist at S Maria in Trastevere, Rome, and travelled much in the Low Countries. From 1608 until his death he was organist at St Peter's in Rome. He composed chiefly organ works and madrigals.
