| biography:
| Italian patriot, born in Milan, Lombardy, N Italy. A member of the Federati secret society, he was arrested by the Austrians in 1821 and jailed in the Spilberk. Freed in 1835, he took part in the Five Days of Milan insurrection in 1848. He went to Piedmont, was a deputy until 1860, and a senator in the new Italian parliament. |
