| Fashion designer, born in Piacenza, N Italy. He studied medicine in Milan, and after military service worked in a department store until he became a designer for Nino Cerruti (1930– ) in 1961. He set up his own company in 1975, designing first for men, then women, including loose-fitting blazers and jackets. He was appointed a United Nations goodwill ambassador in 2002. |
