| British weatherman, the head of the Weather Centre at the BBC (1983–2000). He studied at Bristol College of Science and Technology, joining the Meteorological Office in 1959. He became a radio broadcaster in 1972, and moved to television in 1975. His books include Weather Observations (1978) and The Story of Weather (1990). |
