| Writer and critic, born in Sondrio, Lombardy, N Italy. An expert on Anglo-American literature, he has written novels and short stories characterized by experimentalism and steeped in the slapstick comedy of the silent movies, such as Comiche (1971), Le avventure di Guizzardi (1973), and Lunario del Paradiso (1978). His later works Narratori delle pianure (1985), Quattro novelle sulle apparenze (1987), and Verso la foce (1989) feature a restrained, almost minimalist, language. |
