| Writer, born in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, NE Italy. A contributor to the review La Voce and an irredentist, he fought in World War 1 as a volunteer. His war experience is a central theme of his work, as in Colloqui con mio fratello (1925), Guerra del '15. Dal taccuino di un volontario (1931), and Poesie (1956) in which the necessity for moral and civil commitment co-exists with an escapist view of love. |
