| biography:
| Writer, born in Milan, Lombardy, N Italy. He began his writing career within the Milanese scapigliatura movement, but was also influenced by the French Symbolists. His politics separate his work from that of early Futurism, with which there are similarities. Considered a forerunner of the new avant-garde, his work includes Il libro delle figurazioni ideali (1894), Ragion poetica e programma del verso libero (1908), and Le nottole e i vasi (1912). |
