| biography:
| Musicologist, born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She danced and taught professionally as Tula (1922–46) before turning to the study of American-Indian dance. She did extensive fieldwork, publishing on Iroquois, Pueblo, Six Nations, and Great Lakes Indian dance, and also contributed to dance theory and notation. In 1962 she founded the Dance Research Center in Ann Arbor, MI. |
