| Leader of the German feminist movement, born in Hohenlimburg, WC Germany. She studied at Berlin University, and became president of the League of German Women's Associations (1910–19). She also edited the newspaper Die Frau (1893–1944). A member of the Reichstag (1920–33), she lost this position on the advent of Nazi power. After World War 2 she founded the Christian Social Union. |
