| Composer, born in Dorohoiu, NE Romania. He studied in Vienna, and under Massenet and Fauré in Paris. Successful as a virtuoso and teacher of the violin (his pupils included Yehudi Menuhin), he was also active as a composer. His works include music in Romanian national style, an opera, Oedipus, three symphonies, and orchestral and chamber music. |
