| Judge, born in Stony Stratford, Buckinghampshire, SC England, UK. He went to the USA at age two. He was a member of Utah's first legislature (1896) and served in the US House of Representatives (Republican, Utah, 1901–3) and the Senate (Republican, Utah, 1905–17). President Harding named him to the US Supreme Court (1922–38), where he frequently voted against New Deal measures. |
