| Poet, born in Padua, Veneto, NE Italy. She pursued her literary education in Venice, and was renowned for her poetic and musical gifts and for her beauty. Her remaining 311 poems were collected in the Rime and edited by her sister in 1554. Written in a style reminiscent of Petrarca, most of them are dedicated to Count Collatino di Collalto. |
