A lecturer at the Naval Postgraduate School in California, he wrote CP/M (Control Program for Microcomputers) in 1974, the first operating system for general use on microcomputers using the Intel 8080 chip, enabling others to write applications programs. It provided a major boost to the micro revolution. |
