| Duke of Austria, as Friedrich II (from 1306), the son of Albrecht I von Habsburg. He was crowned German king in opposition to Ludwig IV von Wittelsbach in 1314. In his campaign for the throne, Friedrich was defeated at Mühldorf am Inn (1322) and taken prisoner. He was pardoned in 1325 on renouncing his claim. |
