| biography:
| Painter, born in Owosso, Michigan, USA. He went to France (1898) to study at the Académie Julien in Paris, and became an Impressionist after 1901. He settled in Giverny, although he seems more influenced by Renoir than Monet. He spent the rest of his life in France, often painting women or female nudes, sometimes outdoors in his garden, or in his house. |
