| Painter, born in Paris, France. He was one of the most anarchistic of modern artists, involved in Cubism, Dadaism, and Surrealism. He helped to intoduce Dadaism to New York in 1915. His anti-art productions, often portraying senseless machinery, include ‘Parade Amoureuse’ (1917) and many of the cover designs for the American anti-art magazine 291, which he edited. |
