| biography:
| Italian politician, born in Naples, Campania, SW Italy. One of the theorists and organizers of the anarchistic movement in Italy, he went into exile in 1884, but returned to Italy in 1894. He was against terrorism, and advocated a move towards a kind of libertarian socialism and even taking part in elections, but switched back to more orthodox anarchism in later years. He was Gaetano Bresci's defence counsel at his trial for the killing of King Umberto I. |
