| biography:
| Writer, born in Cosenza, Basilicata, S Italy. With Pier Paolo Pasolini and Roberto Roversi he co-founded the literary review Officina in 1955. He was a member of the ‘new left’, and his work shows a combination of formal experimentation and ideological commitment. It includes poetry collections (Sopra una perduta estate, 1942; Poemi, 1954), essays (Carducci e i suoi contemporanei, 1955), and novels (Fumo, fuoco e dispetto, 1956). |
