| Poet, born in Pistoia, NC Italy. He was in the service of Maffeo Barberini who became Pope Urban VIII. He is considered one of the fathers (along with AlessandroTassoni) of the mock-heroic poem, with his Dello scherno degli dei (1618). He also wrote a number of religious poems and classic-style tragedies. |
