| Architect, born in Paris, France. In 1670 he succeeded Le Vau, his teacher, at Versailles. He was associated with the great works of the period, including the colonnades of the Louvre and the College des Quatre-Nations. He also designed the Porte du Peyrou in Montpellier and the cathedral at Montauban (1692). |
