| biography:
| Poet, born in San Gimignano, NC Italy. He belongs to the Tuscan comic-realistic tradition, and in his eight Semana and 14 Mesi sonnets (1309–17) he paints the life of a group of people who enjoy worldly goods but also good taste in a style halfway between dolce stil novo and comic poetry. In other poems he praises chivalry and blames the Ghibellines for contemporary decadence. |
