| Soprano, born in Richmond, Victoria, SE Australia. She adopted the name of her country as a stage name prior to her debut in 1922 at Covent Garden, London. She appeared in the complete cycles of The Ring at Covent Garden and at the Berlin State Opera, which she joined as principal in 1930. She returned to Australia after World War 2, where she taught until her retirement in 1959. |
