| French yachtswoman, born in Grenoble, E France. Recognized as one of the best women skippers in the world, she made a record 19 trans-Atlantic crossings, seven of them solo. In 1990 she established a new record by crossing the Atlantic solo in 9 days, 21 hours and 42 minutes, and in the same year made a new record in the Route du Rhum. She also holds the record for crossing the Mediterranean. |
