| Poet, born in Ronta del Mugello, Tuscany, Italy. He was forced to escape abroad because of his liberal ideas, and became the director of London's Italian theatre. His London experience inspired the poem ‘Il poeta di teatro’ (1808), while his adventurous trip back to Italy, during which he was captured by pirates, is featured in his Avventure e osservazioni sulle coste di Barberia (1817). |
