| Actor, born in Barcelona, NE Spain. Following his film debut in Un día perdido (1954, director José M&supa; Forqué), his early film career was undistinguished. It was not until 1985 that he achieved fame in that genre, resulting from his numerous (nearly fifty) TV appearances and his work in the theatre with companies such as the Teatro Español and the María Guerrero. His later films include La estanquera de Vallecas (1986, director Eloy de la Iglesia), Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (1987, director Pedro Almodóvar), La rusa (1987, directeor Mario Camus), La noche oscura (1988, director Carlos Saura), and Don Juan en los infiernos (1991, director Gonzalo Suárez). In 1960 he married the actress Gemma Cuervo; their children were actor Fernando Guillén Cuervo and actress Cayetana Guillén. |
